I am on a Windows 7 desktop and fully updated as I took care of that on the post I made asking for technical help. I believe it is some sort of failure that is happening on Windows 7 pc's.Īnd now I am having the same issues with being stuck on Downloading Resources, though the game did work for a couple of days until today. It would say "Join Codes are not available right now" even though they are working for students on other platforms. I had the same issue as JP with the joincode system not connecting. What I figured out is when you run the installer at least on a Windows 7 computer, it extracts files to a hidden folder called C:\ProgramData After you uninstall your old minecraft, delete the Microsoft Studios folder in this hidden folder and when you run the installer it will work again without updater.exe causing a critical failure. The updater.exe plagued me for a couple of days and I had a thread about it on here. I see 3 different issues being discussed, all relevant to me. Thank you for your patience and your love of Minecraft: Education Edition! I'll update all of you once I have more information. Deleting this file may help other versions as well. This may take multiple tries, but our team was able to reproduce the issue and fix it with this. First, navigate to:Ĭ:\Users\\AppData\Local\Temp\minecraftpe\DownloadTemp\Īnd delete this file: download_state.json We do have a current work around we recommend for Windows users. Getting this far wouldn't have been possible without your help. We appreciate all the technical information that you've sent us as well as the trace logs. Your patience as a community has been amazing. This has been a lot of trouble for many of you and for that we again offer our apologies. We just need a little more time to get it ready. While do not have an ETA for this patch, it will be for all platforms (Windows, MacOS, ChromeOS, and iOS). This is Andrew from the support team with another update. If your issue persists past the hotfix and you cannot progress, please let us know in the threads of this post. View this link for info about how to update your Minecraft: Education Edition. The hotfix for iOS will roll out later this week. If the issue persists, it will allow you to skip past the downloading resources screen. after: hey thanks for updating the game!!! love the new game thanksĥ stars: This is a great game i love to play this i play it almost everyday but some times it lags pls fix that they added new stuff to the game so its like JAVAĥ stars: I have always been using this app since 2020 and I have to say I have so many Mods on this app and it's just to good I rate this app 100% It works like magic kee.We have released a hotfix (v1.17.31) on Chromebook, Windows, and Mac which once downloaded, should fix the downloading resources issue for a majority of devices.
